Having obtained an LL.B. from the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), in 1986, he spent most of his career in business law, participating in various kinds of work, from mergers and acquisitions to litigation arising from corporate disputes and commercial contracts.
With the Government’s decreased participation in the energy sector, he began playing a major role in this area. Since then, he has been responsible for providing legal advice on the structuring of some of the most important projects in this sector, which involve practically all links in the chain ranging from oil and natural gas production to thermoelectric power generation and production of petrochemical products, including the transport and distribution of piped natural gas, commercialization of liquefied and compressed natural gas and commercialization of liquid fuels in general.
He is one of the pioneers in project finance structuring in Brazil. He is probably one of the most active lawyers in legislative and regulatory discussions in the Brazilian energy sector.
For 6 years, he was Chief Legal Officer of one of the first private oil and natural gas exploration companies in Brazil (OGX), from which derived important companies in the energy sector.
As a former Federal Government Attorney and former Government Attorney for the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Faveret has a strong performance in public law matters. In addition, since 1990, he has been a State Government Attorney for the State of Rio de Janeiro, working in the tax area, which also provides him with great experience in this matter.
